Abstract Paintings

Creating and exploring art has greatly influenced my life and has evolved into a form of daily meditation. Although I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and am a licensed patent attorney by day, I consider myself an artist/designer/explorer by night. I have recently been studying the unique properties of epoxy resin which has resulted in a discovery of a great medium for artistic expression. I love the creative process and enjoy learning new techniques, working with new materials, and combining different art genres in my work. I enjoy all art forms but probably enjoy sculpture and 3-D design the most. Because of the therapeutic value I have found in making art, I try not to think of the end product (what it will look like, who will see it, where I should place it, etc...) so that I am only concerning myself with what is right in front of me. I find that in creating for the sake of creating, I end up with higher quality works because I am more likely to take risks. I try to approach a project with the idea that I may throw it away when completed, and in doing so, I am able to extensively experiment new techniques and truly express myself in a way not as readily available in other forms of creative expression.
